The rear design has new taillights, which are built right into the trunk lid. Some have been wondering what would happen to these flashing lights for example, when one opens the rear trunk.
Well, Tesla has added new flashing lights to the bottom bumper portion of the vehicle, so don’t worry. That means if you have your hazard lights on and you open the trunk—the flashing lights will automatically transition to the lower lights.
The bottom lights are located where the bumper reflectors are located. This lower section also will show your white reverse lights, too. Check out the screenshot below (seen in Bjørn Nyland’s video in his Model 3 hands on):
