In a recent unanimous decision, the Flower Mound Town Council greenlit Tesla’s site plan for a dealership and service center, marking the automaker’s inaugural venture into Denton County, reports the Tyler Morning Telegraph.

Located at 1805 Justin Road, the future Tesla site encompasses an undeveloped 5.33-acre property, with the proposed establishment spanning 51,391 square feet. This move comes as Tesla eyes strengthening its foothold in Texas, where it also is headquartered.

“Expanding and having this new center in Flower Mound is going to be vital to our presence in the state of Texas,” said Tesla design manager Dhwani Dave. He further emphasized the company’s commitment to “rely on existing customer base convenience and reliable access to our brand services.”

Apart from standard services like software updates, tire replacements, and bolt replacements six days a week, the location promises quick turnarounds for Tesla owners. Dave reassured the council, stating that customers can “be in and out of the site within an hour.”

Prior to the council’s endorsement, the Flower Mound Planning and Zoning Commission had set the ball rolling in July, recommending the Tesla building’s approval. Addressing the council, Lexin Murphy, the town’s director of development services, revealed Tesla’s request for exceptions regarding architectural standards and underground utilities. The council subsequently approved Tesla’s color preference for the building — a gray exterior highlighted with red accents.

The location’s design accommodates one-way access via Justin Road, given its position behind multiple businesses. Council inquiries concerning employment prospects were met with Dave’s projection of “50 to 70 jobs” generated by the dealership. Additionally, Dave clarified that the facility would exclusively feature charging stations tailored for Tesla vehicles.

While Tesla boasts several establishments in North Texas, including Plano and Dallas, local resident and Tesla owner Roger Newman expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming Flower Mound location. “I currently have to go over to the Tesla service center in Plano,” Newman shared during the public hearing.

As anticipation builds for the Flower Mound dealership’s launch date, Tesla enthusiasts can charge their vehicles at several Denton locations, including Rayzor Ranch Marketplace and Buc-ee’s, both equipped with Superchargers. For those lodging in Denton, select hotels such as Embassy Suites, Wildwood Inn, and Best Western Premier Crown Chase Inn & Suites offer Tesla Connectors to their guests.
