We’re starting to hear more about when Tesla’s Model 3 refresh, dubbed ‘Highland’, will go on sale in China.

Yesterday it was reported that Tesla had started to take orders for the new Model 3 ‘Highland’ refresh, and now we’re hearing the new electric sedan will start sales in September and October.

That’s according to Giga Shanghai drone pilot, WuWa (@bentv_sh) on Thursday. “On August 17, the new Model 3 has begun to collect orders in China, and consumers can pay a deposit of 1,000 yuan,” said WuWa, echoing similar reports from yesterday. That’s about $137 USD.

“The new Model 3 will go on sale in September and October. The new Model 3 will go on sale in September and October, salespeople have told us,” he reiterated.

Tesla is reportedly offering discounts on the existing Model 3 for customers, while also pushing its referral program which offers an extra 3,500 yuan ($480 USD) discount.

Recently, the Model 3 refresh was spotted driving in the Xinjiang region in China. We’ve only seen the same pictures of the front and back of the car being concealed. We have seen what appears to be the front of the new Model 3 leaked, but can only assume features such as Hardware 4 for Full Self-Driving, a new dash and more will be coming.
