Acura has announced its transition to the electrified era with the global debut of its first all-electric models, the 2024 Acura ZDX and ZDX Type S. This exciting revelation comes as the automobile world gathers at Monterey Car Week, an event for car enthusiasts worldwide.

The ZDX Type S stands out as the most potent Acura SUV ever, boasting an estimated 500 horsepower. Meanwhile, the ZDX A-Spec, with its single-motor setup, is projected to deliver an EPA range rating of 325 zero-emission miles.

The vehicles were designed at the Acura Design Studio in Los Angeles, showcasing Acura’s cutting-edge styling language. Prices are expected to start at $60,000 USD for the ZDX A-Spec, with the first deliveries set for early 2024.

Assistant Vice President of Acura National Sales, Emile Korkor, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “The arrival of the new ZDX is an exciting moment for the Acura brand. It signals our transition to a zero-emissions future and demonstrates our commitment to Precision Crafted Performance in the electrified era.”

Among the many features setting these vehicles apart are the advanced technological integrations. Acura’s collaboration with Google brings a seamless connectivity experience, while the Bang & Olufsen luxury audio system ensures a top-tier in-car audio experience. On the safety front, the AcuraWatch 360+ offers hands-free driving and an Automatic Parking Assist system for the Type S model.

Under the hood, the ZDX A-Spec is powered by a rear-mounted single-motor producing 340 horsepower, with a dual-motor option also available. For those seeking heightened performance, the ZDX Type S promises features such as height-adjustable air suspension, performance-tuned adaptive dampers, and large Brembo front brakes.

Acura is set to open pre-sale registrations later this year, with interested customers urged to sign up on the company’s website for early access and reservation details. The Honda company previously said its electric ZDX sales would be online only.

Dave Marek, Acura Executive Creative Director, summarized the brand’s vision, saying, “As Acura moves into an exhilarating, electrified future, we will continue to push the forward-thinking design and proportions of our products, embracing the creative liberation that electric vehicles offer.”
