Standard Fleet has rolled out a new feature allowing customers to seamlessly connect to its online dashboard using “Sign in with Tesla.” This integration, facilitated by Tesla’s Single Sign-On (SSO) system, offers users a direct and secure method to authorize Standard Fleet’s access to their Tesla vehicles, as spotted by Teslarati.

By choosing the “Sign in with Tesla” option, users are redirected to Tesla’s official authorization page. Here, they can grant Standard Fleet permission to access their profile details, vehicle location, data, and other commands.

This essentially empowers Standard Fleet to optimize the management of users’ Tesla fleets. Importantly, the entire authorization process takes place on a Tesla-hosted page, ensuring the utmost security for users’ login details and other information. If users ever wish to withdraw this access, they can easily do so via Tesla’s official website.

On the technical side, Standard Fleet connects with Tesla using the OAuth protocol and receives a secure “access token” from Tesla, ensuring that users’ passwords remain confidential. The company adheres to the best software industry practices for this connection.

To utilize this feature, users simply need to navigate to the Standard Fleet login page and select the “Sign In with Tesla” option. After logging in with their Tesla account credentials, they will be prompted to specify the information they wish to share with Standard Fleet. For the best experience, it’s recommended to grant access to all the requested data types.

The primary advantage of this integration is its simplicity and security. By managing the connection through Tesla’s platform, users are assured of top-tier security, reliability, and peace of mind when accessing real-time information from their Tesla vehicles.

Back in June, Tesla accounts saw a new tab for “Third Party Apps”, which noted it would allow owners to manage third-party apps with access to your Tesla Account Data.
