Tesla has quietly introduced a new feature on their website, suggesting that it might soon officially support third-party apps that require access to your account info.
While this setting is still being worked on and does not allow adding apps just yet, it gives a clear signal that Tesla is making strides towards expanding the digital features of its cars, as spotted by Not a Tesla App.
The new “Third Party Apps” section, found under security options in the Profile Settings, is expected to serve as a one-stop spot for Tesla owners to control third-party access to their cars. This new setting is designed for external apps that interact with Tesla vehicles, not to be confused with in-car apps or those rumored for the speculated Tesla App Store.
The text reads, “manage third-party apps with access to your Tesla Account data”. This setting is likely similar to how Google lets you manage your logins from third party apps that have API access.

Third party Tesla apps that come to mind include companion apps such as TeslaFi, Tessie and more.
