How to Buy a Tesla Model 3 for $13,620 in California

Model 3 13000

A Tesla Model 3 buyer from California, known as Zohar (@Zoron9102) on X, shared the details of his impressive deal where he secured the vehicle for just $13,620 before taxes and fees. He attributed the bargain to a combination of federal, state, and local rebates, alongside an inventory discount.

Zohar bought the base model of the Tesla Model 3 with a white interior from the inventory, which had a $4120 discount, reducing the sticker price to $37,120. After applying a $500 referral, the final sticker price before taxes and delivery fees fell to $36,620.

What made the deal even more attractive was Zohar’s unique financial situation from last year, which made him eligible for increased rebates designed for low-income individuals. He’s hoping to claim the full amount of a $7500 Federal tax credit this year, alongside a $7500 rebate from the Clean Vehicle Rebate Project (CVRP), $4000 from the Electrify Your Ride program from Central Coast Community Energy (3CE), and $4000 from the Monterey Bay Air Resources District – Electric Vehicle Incentive Program.

These incentives collectively amounted to $23,000. When combined with the inventory discount and referral, the total value of credits, rebates, and discounts reached a substantial $27,620.

After subtracting the incentives from the pre-tax purchase price, Zohar’s Model 3 cost only $13,620. Post-tax calculations factored in a 9.25% tax rate and a delivery fee of $1,390, bringing the final cost to $18,525.93. Zohar celebrated this remarkable achievement on his Twitter account on July 19, 2023, sharing the intricate breakdown of his deal.
