Tesla Cuts Prices of Model 3 and Model Y in Australia

Tesla has begun the third quarter of 2023 in Australia with an impressive price reduction on its top-selling Model 3 and Model Y electric vehicles, marking the lowest prices they’ve ever been in the country, reports The Driven.

The cost of both the Model 3, Australia’s best-selling EV, and the Model Y have been decreased by $3,500 across all variants. The revised prices are as follows:

Tesla Model 3:

  • Model 3 RWD – $57,400 (down from $60,900)
  • Model 3 Long Range AWD – $70,400 (down from $73,900)
  • Model 3 Performance AWD – $83,400 (down from $86,900)

This pricing is the lowest since the Model 3’s first local deliveries in 2019, further enhancing its accessibility.

The Model 3 has experienced a series of price cuts, starting from the first quarter of 2023, another in the second quarter, and a recent reduction in April, when prices were decreased by $3,000.

Tesla Model Y:

  • Model Y RWD – $65,400 (down from $68,900)
  • Model Y Long Range AWD – $78,400 (down from $81,900)
  • Model Y Performance AWD – $91,400 (down from $94,900)

The Model Y’s price drop means that, for the first time, the RWD variant is now eligible for subsidies in various states and territories, except Victoria. Unfortunately, buyers in Victoria missed out on benefiting from the latest price cuts and the state subsidy by one day.

These significant price reductions are expected to boost what is already a record-setting year for EV sales, with tens of thousands of new EVs projected to hit the roads in the upcoming months.
