Tesla has taken its lineup of vehicles including its upcoming Cybertruck down to New Zealand for winter testing. The vehicles are are the Southern Hemisphere Proving Grounds (SHPG), an international automotive facility based in New Zealand’s Cardrona area.

The Cybertruck in stainless steel and another in a camo wrap were seen driving around in the snow by @CybertruckNZ.

On July 2, 2023, a second Cybertruck made it to the site, according to @CybertruckNZ, with the first camo version seen offloading on June 23. Winter testing in New Zealand offers Tesla the chance to put its vehicles to the test in conditions far colder than in California or Texas.

Cybertruck is expected to start production this quarter at Giga Texas and many are anticipating the first deliveries of the truck, with CEO Elon Musk saying a delivery event might happen in Q3.
