Tesla Increases Price of Wall Connector

Tesla has announced a price increase for its Wall Connector, a popular charging solution for homes, apartments, hospitality properties, and workplaces. The price in the U.S. has risen by 12%, from $425 to $475, while in Canada, the price has been adjusted to $650, up from $575 CAD ($75 increase).

The Wall Connector offers up to 44 miles of range added per hour, making it a convenient charging solution for Tesla owners. It features an auto-sensing handle to open the charge port and Wi-Fi connectivity for over-the-air updates, remote diagnostics, and access controls. Users can also schedule charging and track data through the Tesla app.

Designed for both indoor and outdoor use, the Wall Connector can be configured for variable amperage depending on the installation location. It also has the capability to power-share with up to six Wall Connectors, making it a versatile choice for multi-vehicle households or businesses. The Wall Connector comes with a 24-foot cable and a four-year warranty for residential use.

Tesla emphasizes that the Wall Connector must be installed by a qualified electrician. The company provides resources to find a Tesla Certified Electrician and offers installation videos and manuals for guidance.

For commercial properties, Tesla encourages property managers, developers, and commercial real estate owners to join their growing network of Charging Partners. By installing Wall Connectors as a public or private amenity, properties can benefit from pay-per-use functionality and 24/7 remote monitoring while attracting new and repeat customers with fast EV charging.

Despite the price increase, Tesla owners may still be able to take advantage of local electricity incentives. These incentives can help offset the cost of the Wall Connector and its installation, making it a worthwhile investment for convenient and efficient EV charging.

Back in January, Tesla increased the price of its Wall Connector by 21%, and this latest increase suggests there’s high demand for the charging solution, or costs of materials have gone up again. For those that don’t drive to work daily, the mobile charger that used to come with Tesla vehicles is good enough for regular charging.
