Tesla’s Europe division has launched an initiative inviting property owners to host Supercharger stations across the continent, as seen in a recent post on its Twitter account today. The move represents a strategic push by the electric car manufacturer to expand its Supercharger network, attracting new and recurring customers to host locations.

The Supercharger hosting program aims to attract properties that can support eight or more individual parking stalls and offer amenities such as restaurants, groceries, shops, restrooms, and Wi-Fi. The initiative prioritizes creating a pleasant and convenient experience for Tesla owners while their vehicles charge.

Participating hosts will benefit from Tesla drivers being directed to their sites via the in-car navigation system, potentially boosting their customer footfall. The Supercharger equipment and its upkeep are entirely managed by Tesla, relieving hosts of any maintenance burden or additional hassle.

Tesla promises a fast, efficient, and flexible installation process, executed by a team of Tesla installers. The process is designed to have Superchargers operational in a swift manner, minimizing disruption to the host’s site.

As Tesla continues to expand its electric vehicle market in Europe, the company is particularly interested in locations along popular routes and destinations. The Supercharger hosting initiative is a vital part of Tesla’s ongoing market expansion efforts, as well as its commitment to making electric vehicle charging more accessible and convenient for its customers.

As of Q1 2023, Tesla has 4,947 Supercharger stations worldwide and 45,169 Supercharger connectors. This number is expected to keep growing as Tesla recently added Ford as a partner to leverage its North American Charging Standard (NACS) and also a deal with the Canadian government to open up some Superchargers to non-Tesla EVs.

Prospective hosts can apply through a form on Tesla’s website, providing their contact details, property type, and address. This new initiative reaffirms Tesla’s commitment to accelerating the advent of sustainable transport by making electric vehicle charging as convenient as possible.
