Tesla FSD Beta 11.4 Releases to Employees Tomorrow, Says Musk
Tesla CEO Elon Musk has provided an update on the next release of Full Self-Driving beta.
On Sunday, Musk said the next version of FSD beta, 11.4, will release to employees on Monday. “Ships to Tesla employees tomorrow, then progressively wider as confidence grows. We test as much as possible in simulation and with QA drivers, but reality is vastly more complex,” said Musk.
He later added, “Arguably, v11.4 should be v12.0, as there are so many major improvements. v12 is reserved for when FSD is end-to-end AI, from images in to steering, brakes & acceleration out,” teasing the future capabilities of FSD beta.

Musk also later pointed out that FSD beta 11.4.1 “is a major improvement”, reassuring about fixes coming to the beta software.
It’s worth noting on April 17, we saw the release of FSD beta 11.4 rollout to one vehicle, with software update 2023.6.15 received by @Winnersechelon, who provided an update today about their experience with FSD beta 11.4.
Over the course of “21 days with Tesla FSD Beta V11.4,” a total of “48 drives” covering an estimated “870 miles” were completed. The performance of the Full Self-Driving system demonstrated notable improvements, especially when compared to the previous V11.3 version.
During these drives, there were approximately “15 disengagements.” Some of the reasons for these disengagements include “switching from outer to inner lane during left turns (>5x, safety related),” “No right on red, treated like stop (safety related),” and “Missing exit/entrance ramp, disengaged to prevent reroute.”
It is worth noting that these disengagements do not account for “accelerator interventions. Mostly at stop signs and during excessively slow ‘creeping for visibility’.” If there are any additional disengagements observed in previous videos, users are encouraged to “list details.”
The most significant improvements from V11.3 to V11.4 were observed in lane-changing capabilities. The smoothness of lane changes has greatly improved, with one instance cited as “the smoothest lane change experienced thus far.” Overall, “v11.4 is obviously the best version yet,” said the Tesla owner.
“More 1x speed drive videos coming tomorrow,” showcasing further details of the Tesla FSD Beta V11.4 performance, concluded the Tesla owner.
Currently, Tesla FSD beta is available in wide release with version 11.3.6 (made available on April 8th), which many testers have said has been very good, according to videos seen on YouTube. Check out some videos below:
