Tesla Cybertruck Wiper Blade Testing Spotted at Giga Texas [VIDEO]
Brad Sloan shared a new drone video of Tesla’s Gigafactory Texas on Thursday, including some shots of the Cybertruck as it was being tested near what Sloan calls a “wind tunnel.”
The Cybertruck can be seen parked on a pedestal in front of the wind tunnel container, and it appears that its windshield wiper is being tested with a nearby employee.
We also get to see the Cybertrunk open for the first time.
In addition to the Cybertruck shot, the drone video includes footage of the factory’s second solar roof above the Supercharger area, which is nearing completion. It also shows footage of wall panels being installed at the cathode plant area of the facility, along with a number of other shots around the Gigafactory.
“The wiper is what troubles me most. No easy solution. Deployable wiper that stows in front trunk would be ideal, but complex,” said Tesla CEO Elon Musk, referring to the Cybertruck in December 2021.
Last week, reports showed that Tesla’s Giga Texas tripled its workforce in 2022, investing $5.8 billion throughout the year to build out the factory.
As can be seen in the drone video, the construction is still very much ongoing, with many areas of Giga Texas being actively under construction.
Giga Texas has also been ramping up production since it officially became operational last year, reaching 4,000 cars built in a week earlier this month.
