We’ve been hearing non-stop chatter about Tesla picking Mexico as the location of its next plant, and now we have confirmation yet again the company will soon make an announcement, according to Reuters.
Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard said on Friday, “Very soon we will have confirmation that this company, which is so important, which is very close to the electromobility priorities we are promoting, has chosen Mexico to increase its presence,” referring to Elon Musk’s company.
Apparently, Musk is set to speak with Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador soon by phone, says Ebrard, without providing any details on the time of the call or plant location picked by Tesla.
“It will be talked about in the call,” said Ebrard, speaking at an event with the country’s business leaders.
Earlier this month, sites Nuevo Leon and Hidalgo were apparently being considered by Tesla in Mexico, as per Lopez Obrador.
