The Boring Company’s CEO is Reportedly a Top Pick to Lead Twitter, Says Report
The Boring Company head and former SpaceX Engineer Steve Davis has been rumored to be a top candidate to take over for Elon Musk as CEO at Twitter, according to a report from The Information shared on Friday.
The report says that Davis has been spotted at Twitter recently, even though he doesn’t have a personal Twitter account and hasn’t worked with advertisers in any capacity.
Davis is also considered an odd option for the role, with a recent discussion seeming to highlight that he didn’t realize people could pay to create fake accounts, according to one former employee who had direct knowledge of the discussion.

More importantly, however, the report notes that Davis has a deep loyalty to Musk, and he has worked with him in some capacity since 2003. His background as an aerospace engineer had him working at SpaceX first, going on to work at The Boring Co. since then.
In recent months, Davis and partner Nicole Hollander even had a baby, who was born as the family slept in an office at Twitter’s San Francisco headquarters — where Davis has been working as a proxy for Musk.
“No one wants the job who can actually keep Twitter alive,” Musk said earlier this month on the difficulty in finding a suitable CEO for the social media platform.
