As electric vehicles (EVs) continue to gain market share in most auto markets across the world, one European country has reached a new milestone as led by Tesla’s compact crossover SUV and sedan, the Model Y and Model 3.
France’s auto market reached a record plugin EV market share of 24.4 percent in November, including both battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) and plugin hybrid EVs (PHEVs), according to data compiled by Clean Technica.
Additionally, Tesla’s Model Y SUV was the nation’s best-selling BEV for the same month, selling 2,891 units to land ahead of the automaker’s Model 3, which sold 2,809 units.
Other BEVs making up the top five spots included the Dacia Spring (1,954), the Renault Megane (1,783) and the Peugeot E-208 (1,428).
