Tesla Shows Off its Megafactory in Lathrop, California [VIDEO]
Tesla shared a video of its new Megapack factory located in Lathrop, California, in efforts to fill numerous jobs required at the location, where the company’s Megapack energy storage product is made.
“Meet Megafactory, our new Megapack factory in Lathrop, CA. Join us in manufacturing the future of energy storage,” said Tesla on its LinkedIn page. The company then shared a link to where 39 positions are waiting to be filled at the Lathrop Megafactory, ranging from welders, engineers, supervisors and more.
A short video of the Lathrop factory was also shared, showing a small glimpse of how a Megapack is made. The Megapack is about the size of a container and is the commercial version of a Powerwall, offering 3 MWh of energy per unit, which is enough energy to power 3,600 homes for one hour, says Tesla.
“Megapack delivers more power and reliability at a lower cost over its lifetime. Each battery module is paired with its own inverter for improved efficiency and increased safety. With over-the-air software updates, Megapack gets better over time,” explains Tesla’s website.

Tesla broke ground on its Megafactory in Lathrop last September.
In Q3 2022, Tesla saw record growth for its energy storage products, with deployments increasing 62% year-over-year, up to 2.1 GWh last quarter, which was “by far the highest level we have ever achieved,” said the company. Tesla says they are in the process of ramping up production at its 40 GWh Megapack factory in Lathrop, “to address the growing demand.”
