GMC has announced pre-orders have launched for its 2024 Sierra EV Denali Edition 1, set to debut in early 2024. GMC first teased the electric Sierra truck last December.
The electric truck features 754 hp and 785 lb-ft of torque in max power mode, and has a GM-estimated 400 miles of range on a full charge. The truck features 4-wheel steer with crabwalk, power station pro offering 10.2 kW of off-boarding power, a 16.8-inch diagonal center touchscreen and Super Cruise. DC fast charging will offer 100 miles in 10 minutes of charging.
“Without the need to work around a conventional propulsion system, there was an exciting opportunity to reimagine the Sierra EV with a refined yet bold, next-generation modern style and functionality,” said Sharon Gauci, executive director, Buick and GMC Design, in a statement. “The Ultium Platform allowed us to design what a truck can offer differently when it comes to appearance, spaciousness and capability. It was an important goal for Sierra EV to be visually distinctive yet maintain the essence of GMC and this can be seen in many elements inside and out. For example, the powerful front shield and strong, continuous body side with machined detailing.”
“When you’re named after the highest peak in North America, you strive to make trucks that set themselves apart and set themselves above. The all-electric First Ever GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 is built to tower above everything you thought an electric truck could be,” says GMC.
The 2024 Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 can go 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds and can tow up to 9,500 lbs, there’s a panoramic glass roof, plus 24-inch wheels with 35-inch tires and also an Air Ride Adaptive Suspension. The truck will be manufactured at GM’s Factory ZERO Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly in Michigan.
As for the pricing of the 2024 Sierra EV Denali Edition 1, it starts at $107,000 USD. The regular Sierra EV Denali launches in Spring 2024, while GMC says regular Sierra EV models will start from $50,000 USD.
