After Italian automaker Maserati announced the Folgore electric vehicle (EV) last month, the company has shared more details about its upcoming battery-electric version of the GranTurismo vehicle, as announced in a press release on Monday.

In addition to the Modena and Trofeo gas variants, Maserati will release the GranTurismo Folgore EV featuring an 800-volt engine with three 300-kW magnetic motors.

The EV’s battery has a nominal capacity of 92.5 kWh and a discharge capacity of 560 kW, offering around 760 horsepower to the vehicle’s wheels.

The GranTurismo Folgore EV is also set to include innovative systems such as the Maserati Intelligent Assistant (MIA) multimedia system along with an infotainment touchscreen.

The vehicle itself is 1,353mm tall and includes what Maserati calls a “T-bone” battery pack that’s shaped to fit around all the seats without being built directly beneath any of them.

The vehicle’s interior includes an “all-round sound experience” with the Italian-designed Sonus faber 3D sound system with 14 to 19 speakers and a total output of 860 to 1,195 Watts.

Maserati said in its announcement that the Folgore EV can reach more than 200 mph with a 0-60 mph acceleration of just 2.6 seconds.

Additionally, Maserati announced plans earlier this year to go all-electric by 2030 upon announcing its first luxury EVs.
