A new update shows that Maserati’s newest electric vehicle (EV) Stellantis’s plans to go 100 percent battery-electric in Europe by 2030.

Maserati’s GranTurismo Folgore EV is Stellantis’s first full-electric coupe, and the automaker says it will feature an over-200-mph top speed and a 0-60 mph acceleration of just 2.6 seconds, as revealed in a YouTube video (via Automotive News).

Expected to launch in 2023, the first edition of the Maserati GranTurismo Folgore EV will feature a 3-liter V6 Nettuno gas engine, before the all-electric variant is released later in the year. Maserati also plans to launch an EV variant of the Grecale, after the gas crossover debuted this spring.

Folgore is Italian for lightning, and the word will be included in the names of all of the automaker’s car titles.

CEO Davide Grasso expects Stellantis’s premium brand to electrify more quickly than initially planned due to the growing consumer popularity of EVs.

“We are seeing a strong acceleration in demand coming from our customers,” Grasso said in July. “I believe any demand for internal combustion engines after 2030 will be residual.”

Maserati also plans to launch just two internal combustion engine (ICE) models in 2023, including the GranTurismo coupe and the convertible GranCabrio — though each of the models will also gain a battery-electric version.
