Jeep Unveils ‘Avenger,’ ‘Recon’ and ‘Wagoneer’ Electric SUVs [VIDEO]

Jeep revealed multiple new electric SUVs on Thursday, as detailed in a press release from parent company Stellantis and its online 4xe day event.

In the release, Jeep shared a video with images of the Recon fully-electric SUV and the Wagoneer S. The automaker also teased the upcoming Avenger model, which is set to debut at the Paris Motor Show on October 17, before launching early next year in Europe.

Jeep also announced plans to introduce four battery-electric SUVs in North America and Europe by 2025.

By the end of 2030, the automaker is also shooting to reach a goal of 100 percent battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) in its passenger cars in Europe, with a goal of 50 percent BEV cars and trucks in the U.S.

The milestones support Jeep and parent brand Stellantis’s goals to reach net zero carbon by 2038.

“It is our ethical responsibility to ensure a sustainable future of mobility for our customers, our employees, and our planet,” said Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares. “Jeep’s global SUV electrification offensive fits today’s market demands and we’re eager to lead the way the world moves.”

Jeep shared a battery-electric crossover earlier this year, featuring a similar rear bumper to the Cherokee and Renegade models.

Changes to the U.S. EV tax credit have rendered plugin hybrid versions of the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Wrangler eligible through the end of this year.
