Kia EV6 vs Mustang Mach-E vs VW ID.4 Drag Race and Regen Test [VIDEO]
YouTube channel carwow shared a video on Thursday featuring a drag race between the Volkswagen ID.4 GTX, Ford Mustang Mach-E and Kia EV6 electric vehicles (EVs). The video, as hosted by Mat Watson, shows the three vehicles performing relatively similarly though one of the EVs is the clear winner.
In the UK, the VW ID.4 costs around £50,000 ($59,846 USD), while the Mach-E goes for about £61,000 ($73,012 USD). The Kia EV6 is the cheapest of all three EVs starting at a price of £48,000 ($57,452 USD).
All three EVs are dual-motor configurations, though the Mach-E has the highest horsepower at 350hp. It’s followed by the EV6 with 325hp and finally the ID.4 with just 300hp.
The lightest EV is the 2,090-kilogram (4,607-pound) Kia EV6, while the Mach-E and ID.4 weigh 2,198 kg (4,845 lbs) and 2,224 kg (4,903 lbs), respectively.
The Kia EV6 beats both the Mach-E and ID.4 easily. In a regenerative braking test, the EV6 also beat both cars when it comes to one-pedal driving stopping power.
These vehicles compete against Tesla’s Model Y, which was not part of this test.
Volkswagen began producing the ID.4 in the U.S. last month. Buyers can also purchase the Kia EV6 in the U.S. and the Mustang Mach-E, since Ford is based in the country.
