Tesla Launches Shareholder Platform Program for Events and Updates

Tesla launched the Tesla Shareholder Platform on Tuesday, which it says will let users participate in certain events and hear new updates pertaining to investors (via Twitter).

The platform is using Say Technologies and Plaid, and it will let shareholders interact with investor events, ask questions and feature a cohesive interface for voting in these kinds of events.

Shareholders may link their brokerage accounts using either Say or Plaid, or those outside the U.S. can do so with a written statement.

The interface also lets users choose what kind of email subscription they’d like out of three options — basic, intermediate and detailed.

The email subscription lets users choose whether they want minimal communication for essential updates only such as press releases, earnings calls and shareholder decks, or they want documents from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to be included.

The news comes just weeks after Tesla began sending out invites for its 2022 annual stockholders’ meeting, which is scheduled to take place on Thursday, August 4 at 2:30 p.m. PT at the automaker’s Giga Texas factory.

Tesla is planning a stock split which it expects to pay a dividend to shareholders, resulting in an initial 7 percent jump for Tesla’s shares upon announcement in March.
