Tesla Vehicles Spotted Performing the ‘Chuck Cook’ Unprotected Left Turn
Tesla’s vehicles are rarely spotted with manufacturer plates, especially not states away from its factories, but one YouTuber’s family has officially spotted one in Florida.
The family of @Chuck Cook, known for his videos performing unprotected left turns with the Full Self-Driving (FSD) beta activated, happened to spot a Tesla Model Y with Texas Manufacturer license plates performing an unprotected left turn in Florida.
Cook shared two photos of the vehicle, one of the license plate, and one of the EV itself, as it approached the fast-moving T-style intersection.
In the post, Cook said that the sight most likely validates Tesla’s FSD beta 10.13 based on the turn that his family saw.
He also added that the family reportedly saw the vehicle stop at an angle at the median, though Cook is not entirely sure whether FSD was engaged or not.
When one user asked when Cook planned to test it, Cook said he would wait until getting the 10.13 beta version of FSD, rather than trying to make more videos with the 10.12.2 software.
Tesla’s release notes for FSD beta 10.13 show a handful of improvements for drivers in the U.S. market, including improved accuracy for speed limit signs, improved lane positioning and big upgrades to the unprotected left turn scenario — which the automaker namedrops Chuck Cook for, due to his many videos on the subject.
