GM’s Chevrolet unveiled its 2024 Blazer EV on Monday, detailing five trims with pricing from $44,995 USD. The upcoming EV looks to take on the likes of the Tesla Model Y, Mustang Mach-E and Volkswagen ID.4, for example.
Various configurations include RWD and AWD trims, with a GM-estimated range of up to 320 miles. The Chevy Blazer EV will be available in LT, 2LT, RS trims and the company’s first-ever electric SS performance model, plus a pursuit-rated Police Pursuit Vehicle (PPV).

“The 2024 Blazer EV sets a new tone for electric SUVs, with options and intuitive technologies that help position Chevy for leadership in one of the fastest-growing EV segments,” said Scott Bell, vice president of Chevrolet, in a statement. “Along with the all-new Silverado EV and Equinox EV coming next year, we are making great strides in offering more choices for zero tailpipe-emissions vehicles — choices that make switching to an EV easier than ever.”

The Blazer EV SS trim will feature AWD and up to 557 horsepower and up to 648 lb-ft of torque, with GM-estimated 0-60 mph times in under 4 seconds. It will have a GM-estimated 290 miles on a full charge, 22-inch wheels, front Brembo brakes and a sport-tuned chassis.
Chevy says the Blazer EV will have a 17.7-inch infotainment touchscreen, plus support 11.5 kWh level 2 charging and DC fast-charging up to 190 kW, depending on trim.

Chevy says other features such as heated and ventilated front seats will be available on RS and SS trims, and heated rear seats on outboard locations on the SS and optional for the RS.
As for the Police Pursuit Vehicle, it will be based on the Blazer SS and have RWD and AWD trims, plus have front Brembo brakes and be outfitted with police gear both in and out.

“Blazer EV will be produced at GM’s Ramos Arizpe, Mexico, production facility, which manufactures the current Blazer,” said the company. How’s that for being made in America?
Earlier today, GM CEO Mary Barra predicted the company would be able to surpass Tesla in EV sales by mid-decade. It remains to be seen if Chevy can produce the various trims of its Blazer EV, considering the ongoing chip shortage and supply chain headwinds, which Barra said are expected to last into 2023.
