As Tesla updates its vehicles, it tends to incrementally make its menus more streamlined, and a recent update shows new menus for one part of the vehicle’s user interface.

Tesla’s software update 2022.12.3 brought with it an altered service mode, according to a post on Monday from @tweetsPi and @Tesla_Adri.

Service Mode is enabled by Tesla technicians when providing service to a customer’s vehicle. When a Tesla is in Service Mode, mobile vehicle controls from a customer’s Tesla app aren’t able to override the feature.

In the post, Pi shared a pair of photos depicting menu screens in service mode.

One of the photos shows a long list of vehicle components to inspect, including things such as controls, pedals and steering, charging, Autopilot, locks, lights and display, among others still.

The other screenshot shows a different menu depicting basic vehicle information including the VIN, the version of Autopilot hardware, the odometer, the processor and the firmware version.

Under ‘Service Alerts’, we can see Active Alerts and Recent Alerts history. Under an Autopilot menu, we also see the status of the latter’s ECU and vehicle sensors and radar, if applicable.

Other changes made to Tesla’s software versions 2022.12.3 and 2022.12.3.1 released earlier this month include bug fixes primarily, as well as improvements to overall customization, child locks and app controls.

The recent Tesla update also brought with it a new rear display for seat warmers in Model S and X vehicles, as shared in photos posted last week.
