Lincoln Star EV Concept Unveiled, Three New EVs Coming by 2025 [VIDEO]
Ford’s luxury automobile brand Lincoln is now jumping into the electric vehicle (EV) race with a new teaser showing off upcoming car concepts.
Lincoln shared a teaser video of the upcoming Star concept vehicle on Wednesday, as well as detailing some of its EV plans.
In particular, Lincoln says it plans to release three fully-electric vehicles by 2025, with the automaker expecting over half of its global sales volume to be electric by the middle of the decade.
Lincoln President Joy Falotico said, “As Lincoln enters the next chapter in our transition to a zero-emissions future, the Lincoln Star Concept will lead the way for our portfolio of fully electric vehicles.” Falotico continued. “It is an excellent example of how we are redefining luxury for the next generation as we work to transform the vehicle into a third space – a true place of sanctuary – for our clients.”
Lincoln originally teased the upcoming Star concept earlier this month, and the video shared on Wednesday shows a few more angles of the EV.
The Lincoln Star is set to include a digital ecosystem through the Lincoln Intelligence System, also paving the way for a major shift to connected, electrified vehicles.
The video is all renders and not an actual physical prototype. It remains to be seen if the Star will be produced and delivered as promised, but we’ll wait and see:
