Lucid Motors on Monday teased it will announce news on Tuesday, April 12, about its upcoming Lucid Air Grand Touring ‘P’.

“Find out the numbers behind the letter tomorrow,” said Lucid Motors, noting the announcement would take place at 6am PT/9am ET on Tuesday.

According to Lucid Motors’ Jeff Curry, the company’s Vice President of Marketing and Communications, he added, “who doesn’t want over 1,000hp??”, hinting the next version of the Lucid Air Grand Touring will have well over 1,000 horsepower.

The current Air Dream Edition Performance offers 1,111 max horsepower with up to 471 miles of range, is able to do 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds, and starts at $169,000 USD.

Tesla’s Model S Plaid has 1,020 horsepower and can go from 0-60 mph in 1.99 seconds, currently the fastest production car in the world, according to the company.

As for the Lucid Air Grand Touring, it currently starts at $139,000 USD and offers up to 800 hp with up to 516 miles of EPA range.

It’s unclear how much more horsepower Lucid will inject into the entry Air sedan in a performance version, what the cost will be–and whether Lucid Motors will be able to produce and deliver more cars. We’ll find out soon enough.
