Tesla Wins ‘Best Overall Luxury Brand’ for 3rd Straight Year: KBB

After the Tesla Model 3 and Y were ranked Q4 2021’s top luxury cars, the automaker has officially earned the same title and a few others for the 2022 model year.

Tesla was ranked 2022’s Best Overall Luxury Brand by Kelley Blue Book (KBB) on Thursday, marking the automaker’s third year in a row earning the title, according to Teslarati.

The rating is based on the automaker’s brand image and overall vehicle lineup, both of which must be considered immediately recognizable, attractive and exciting for consumers.

In addition to the Best Overall Luxury Brand, Tesla earned the titles of Best Value Luxury Brand and Most Refined Luxury Brand — just weeks after Tesla overtook traditional automaker and leader BMW for the most-registered luxury brand.

In its review of the EV brand, KBB said, “Electric power, style, and high tech characterize Tesla. But it’s the stunning performance and the ability to travel 300 miles or more on a single charge that closes the deal. The Model 3 is the most affordable Tesla, while the Model S sedan and Model Y and X SUVs cater to customers requiring room for cargo and passengers.”

Earlier this week, the Tesla Model 3 and Y were also rated some of the most efficient EVs of 2022, based on rankings of the estimated miles-per-gallon unit created by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
