One Starlink user shared a photo of the latest dishy terminal covered in ice, which revealed a beautiful and intricate antenna pattern design on the hardware (via Reddit).

The user pointed out that, when they arrived home from work at about 3:00 a.m., the Starlink service was offline and the dish was searching for satellites.

After rebooting the router, the user’s internet was apparently back online, however, when they went to check on the dish terminal and discovered the ice-covered design. We see a honeycomb-like design pattern, made up of hexagons.

The user also noted that the melting setting was on Auto, adding that the terminal doesn’t have a heater, but rather uses excess heat from the antenna to keep ice and snow clear.

Over the weekend, SpaceX accused Viasat of trying to access data on the Starlink network through the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

The news came many months after Viasat requested that the FCC put certain stipulations on SpaceX’s Starlink internet last year, though the agency later denied the request.

SpaceX has also said it’s currently testing Starlink on Gulfstream jets, though it plans to make commercial airline support the first priority.

Earlier this month, the European Union (EU) also announced a $6.8 billion satellite internet plan with which it plans to rival Starlink.
