Starlink Order Wait Times to Decrease in 2022, Says Elon Musk

According to SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, those with Starlink orders “shouldn’t have to wait long,” as the company is set to increase production of its standard satellite dish.

“SpaceX standard antenna production rises rapidly this year, so those with orders shouldn’t have to wait long,” said Musk on Wednesday morning.

“Note, Starlink can only support a limited number of users in an area, so best to order early,” added Musk’s call to action.

Musk also clarified Starlink service for “high altitudes are operational probably this summer.”

On Tuesday, SpaceX unveiled Starlink Premium, a more expensive option geared towards rural businesses, offering faster download speeds and larger Starlink dish.

“This is twice the area of our standard phased array with broader scan angle,” said Musk.

Service starts at $500 USD per month for Starlink Premium.

For those running into the issue of not being able to order Starlink Premium with their existing account/email, Musk said it would be “fixed soon”.

On Thursday, SpaceX will launch a new batch of Starlink satellites into orbit from Florida, its third launch of this week, after today’s spy satellite launch in California.
