Tesla continues to launch new accessories today, as its online store gained new Wall Connector colored face plates, and now we’re seeing a Model Y Glass Roof Sunshade available for $120.
“Constructed of lightweight mesh fabric with a collapsible rigid frame, the Model Y Glass Roof Sunshade further reduces heat transmission into the cabin by blocking two-thirds of solar thermal load. Easily removable, the sunshade is installed onto the interior of the glass roof with provided clips. When removed, the shade collapses and can be stored in the included zippered pouch,” explains Tesla.
The kit includes:
- 1x glass roof sunshade
- 8x sunshade clips
- 1x zippered storage pouch
This sunshade for Model Y joins the Model 3 and Model S Glass Roof Sunshades, priced from $75-90 USD and $120 USD, respectively.
For those taking long summer road trips, the Tesla Model Y roof should block 99% of UV rays, but sometimes with sleeping babies and others, it’s nice to have more shade.
There are numerous third-party sunshades available on Amazon and from Tesmanian (use TELSANORTH10 to save 10%), but this one is officially from Tesla.
