2022 Model Y Performance Now Gets Michelin Pilot All Season Tires

According to a recent post from Reddit user daekwan, Tesla is now delivering the 2022 Model Y Performance with Michelin Pilot All Season 4 tires instead of the Pirelli P-Zero tires the all-electric CUV used to come with.

The Michelin Pilot Sport AS 4 tires are part of the veteran tire maker’s new line of electric vehicle-specific tires. They are extremely well-reviewed and are revered as excellent “winter” tires, making them especially suitable for regions that get a lot of snow.

Tesla’s online parts catalogue now shows these new tires in a staggered setup, in 255/35 and 275/35 specifications:

  • Michelin, Pilot Sport AS 4, TIRE, 255/35R21 98W XL FRONT
  • Michelin, Pilot Sport AS 4, TIRE, 275/35R21 103W XL REAR

Michelin’s Pilot Sport AS 4 tires are known to be extremely versatile and capable of handling an array of weather and road conditions but also come with a slight performance and range penalty. They also offer a handling improvement over the Model Y Performance’s stock tires.

Another Reddit user who recently took delivery of a Model Y Performance in Vancouver, British Columbia, confirmed in a comment that Tesla is shipping the car with the new Michelin Pilot AS 4 tires in Canada as well.

Just last week, Tesla launched the Model Y Performance in China and delivered the very first unit.
