Watch Tesla FSD Beta 10.5 Drive in Thanksgiving Traffic for Over 9 Hours [VIDEO]

Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) and Autopilot systems are both meant to be monitored by a human driver who is ready to take over, but in some cases, the driver may not need to take over at all.

Whole Mars Catalog took a Tesla Model 3 with FSD for a drive from the San Francisco Bay Area to Los Angeles with zero takeovers – even amidst dense post-holiday traffic.

The drive was taken on the Sunday after Thanksgiving by Whole Mars Blog, with the holiday adding a significant amount of cars to the route, and ultimately causing serious bumper-to-bumper traffic.

Instead of being a 5.5-hour drive, like usual, the drive became 9.5 hours long with just one stop to charge at the upgraded Tesla Supercharger station in Kettleman City.

With zero interventions necessary, Whole Mars Blog said he didn’t really have to touch the gas pedal or steering wheel for the whole drive, which apparently went even better than other zero-intervention drives, which didn’t have to deal with challenging levels of traffic.

The other Whole Mars zero-intervention drives from the Bay Area to L.A. were pre-Tesla vision, meaning they hadn’t yet switched to Tesla’s camera-only sensor system and were still relying on some radar elements.
