Tesla ‘Talking’ on Halloween Shocks Kids, Video Goes Viral

Tesla recently released its 2021.36.8 software update, which allows for live viewing of Sentry Mode from the company’s iPhone app (Android should be coming soon), plus the ability to talk through your car’s Pedestrian Warning Speaker.
The added security features allow Tesla owners to monitor their vehicle’s surroundings and talk to would-be thieves in a deep-sounding voice (reminiscent of the scene in True Lies when Arnold Schwarzenegger talks to his on-screen wife Jamie Lee Curtis in a robot voice using a special device).
According to a video shared by Silverph_NY_Tesla (@silverph) and shared by Tesla on Twitter, you can see kids trick or treating on Halloween, only to be stunned when they realize a Tesla is talking. It’s all recorded by the owner’s Ring camera.

The video has since gone viral and racked up over 600,000 views, with the Tesla saying “Happy Halloween kids” and the children responding with surprise, saying “that was the Tesla!” and “where are you?”. The Tesla then tells the kids to “go get your candy” and it’s just laughing all around after that.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk even said the new talking voice feature would make for great pranks, and it has delivered as the update was released in time for Halloween.
