Tesla to Clarify Model X Delivery Timelines Next Month: Report
With deliveries of Tesla’s refreshed Model X finally kicking off in California, other buyers that ordered earlier this year and beyond are still waiting to find out when they’ll receive their cars.
Tesla reportedly plans to have more clarity on Model X delivery timelines as soon as November, according to internal memos obtained by Electrek.
The news comes after a number of orders have been pushed back to September of next year, while some Model X refresh buyers have already begun receiving their copies â with other reservation holders left frustrated and confused as to when their orders will arrive.
âFirst deliveries of Model X Long Range have begun in the Bay Area and will expand to all North America locations in the following weeks,” reads the memo.

Delivery timelines of the Model X refresh for new buyers have been pushed back to 11 months from now, while the Model S demand has pushed its delivery back to June 2022.
In internal communication, Tesla emphasized that Model X Long Range deliveries are currently only happening in the Bay Area, though it also said they plan to expand this to all of North America in the following weeks.
âWe will continue to update Tesla Account so they can follow along with their vehicle delivery timeline. At this time, all Model X Palladium customers are currently seeing either no timing, or Q1 or later in their Tesla Account. Early-to-mid Q4 2021, we expect to update timing in customer accounts to be more specific (i.e. date ranges such as âJanuary XX to January XX instead of showing only âJanuaryâ)”, says the company memo, reports Electrek.
Additionally, Tesla says it’s currently only producing the six-seat Model X variant, while those with five or seven-seat configurations will need to wait longer, or to ask their delivery directors for approval to modify orders to a six-seat configuration, also gaining access to the original six-seater price.
