Elon Musk to Attend Tesla’s Gigafactory Berlin County Fair Event

Tesla has confirmed a County Fair Gigafactory Berlin event on October 9, open to residents of Berlin and Brandenburg, and the head of the company will also reportedly be in attendance.

When asked on Friday if he would be attending the Gigafactory Berlin County Fair event, @Elon Musk replied “Yes,” confirming his attendance at the upcoming Grünheide, Brandenburg facility. The event is set to include a tour of the new factory, as well as local food trucks, and informational booths, and a number of activities like driving inside the Model Y.

Tesla opened pre-registration for the event earlier this week, using a new website for users to sign up to (hopefully) receive an invitation. Still, the event will only be for locals to the area and will include a maximum capacity of about 3,500 people – about as many employees as can fit into the factory during a regular workday.

The Tesla Gigafactory is still awaiting final approval from German Ministers to become fully operational, though the company is expected to gain this by the end of the year.

Gigafactory Shanghai currently produces vehicles for European customers, but the opening of Gigafactory Berlin will represent European-made vehicles for Tesla customers within the region.
