Tesla’s Elon Musk Holds ‘All-Hands’ Meeting: Model 2, Cybertruck, Robo Van and More

It appears Tesla held an all-hands staff meeting tonight, hosted by CEO Elon Musk, according to details from sources speaking to @SawyerMerritt. Here’s a breakdown of what was apparently said at the meeting, according to details provided to Merritt from unnamed sources.

Gigafactories

For starters, Tesla’s Gigafactory in Berlin, Germany, is slated for approval in October. As for Gigafactory Austin in Texas, the company will spell “Tesla” on the roof for planes landing nearby to see.

Full Self-Driving

Musk praised the Tesla team for its hard work, while specifically mentioned Full Self-Driving 10 is “quite profound, a revelation, is the future”. Musk said FSD beta 10 will launch next week and the “button request” for regular FSD subscribers to try the beta will become available “two weeks after that”.

Model 2

Tesla’s $25,000 electric vehicle will not be called the ‘Model 2’. The company named the Model 3 due to Ford owning the ‘Model E’ trademark, and Model 3 was used to “troll them”.

Supercharger Network

Merritt details how the Tesla Supercharger network will open up very soon, say sources, starting possibly as soon as October, beginning first in Europe.

Cybertruck

The Tesla Cybertruck has been delayed to late 2022, with production starting in the latter and “volume production in 2023”.

Tesla’s Growth

According to Musk, he expects Tesla to grow at least by a factor of 10. He also added he might go to Mars in about 10 years as well.

Robo Van

Musk mentioned Tesla will build a ‘Robo Van’ in the future, to enable those with disabilities to travel.

Now, it’s unclear how much of this may be true, but Merritt has been known to have some solid sources in the past. You can take the above with a grain of salt for now, but in the morning we may see other major news publications share similar details of the meeting, corroborating what was said on Thursday night.
