2023 Subaru Solterra EV Specs and Pictures Announced
In May, Subaru teased its first all-electric vehicle, the Subaru Solterra and now the company has followed up with a few more details on the upcoming release.
On Tuesday, Subaru announced that its upcoming 2023 Subaru Solterra will be its most technologically advanced Subaru yet, and will feature a Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive based on the e-Subaru platform, according to a press release.
The electric vehicle (EV) is expected to go on sale in the U.S. in mid-2022 and is expected to include a variety of technology, off-road, and all-weather features as well.
Among new technologies packed into the Solterra, Subaru says it includes advanced safety technology, plenty of ground clearance. In addition, the release claims the EV will include plenty of legroom and cargo space.
Along with the other updates included, Subaru claims in the release that 96 percent of its vehicles manufactured in the past are still on the road today – making the case for a sustainable, safe, and long-lasting vehicle for the company’s first EV, too.
Being an electric SUV, the Subaru Solterra will be a direct competitor to the Tesla Model Y, and although pricing and specific offerings haven’t been released yet for the Solterra, Subaru’s brand loyalty and good reputation may well garner a move to EVs for its customers.
