As SpaceX prepares to launch into space more regularly in the coming years, the company’s Starbase launch site in Texas is coming together – in more ways than just the cool-looking sign.
After releasing parts 1 and 2 of the SpaceX Starbase Launchpad tour, Everyday Astronaut released part 3 of the tour on Wednesday, complete with a ton of behind-the-scenes footage from Starbase, Texas launchpad.
Part 3 of the tour features several shots in and around the facility’s exclusion zone, the orbital launch table, and various interviews with SpaceX head Elon Musk – including a long explanation from Musk about why it’s so urgent that SpaceX makes humans interplanetary.
In the interview, Musk said, “For almost a decade, America had no access to space for the people. So this is a pretty bad trend, expanding to zero. We need a very strong trend in the other direction, in order to have any chance whatsoever of making life ultimately interplanetary.” Musk continued, “So that’s the reason for the extreme sense of urgency.”
