On Thursday evening, Elon Musk retweeted a video from his company Neuralink, showing off what he describes as, “monkey plays Pong with his mind.”
“A monkey is literally playing a video game telepathically using a brain chip!!”, said an ecstatic Musk.
The goal of Neuralink is to let someone with paralysis use a smartphone with just their brain, with telepathy, at some point in the future.
The video from Neuralink shows “Pager, a nine year old Macaque, plays MindPong with his Neuralink.”
The video shows Pager playing pong first with a joystick, then the joystick is removed and he is able to control the game with his mind.
Check out the video below for a better explanation—this is the future, today:
Last summer, Musk demonstrated pigs with Neuralinks installed into their skulls, but this latest video is truly incredible.
