2021 Tesla Model S Plaid Spotted on the Road in Los Altos, California
Tesla’s latest Model S refresh sporting the new 2021 design, has been spotted near the company’s Fremont factory and in Los Altos in California.
Instagram account @siliconvalleyteslas shared a picture of a Model S Plaid in Los Altos, California, shared yesterday. You can tell it’s a Model S Plaid based on the carbon fiber rear spoiler:
Also, new images shared on Reddit today, claims a “Tesla Model S Plaid+ spotted a few miles north of the Tesla Fremont plant!”, as seen below:
While we do see some new wheels on the Model S refresh, it appears this test vehicle from the outside resembles a Long Range, instead of Plaid (or that’s what Tesla wants us to believe!).
Tesla’s Model S Long Range does not come with a rear spoiler as per the company’s online configurator, matching the pictures of the rear of the sedan posted on Reddit
The Tesla Model S Plaid and Plaid+ does come with a rear spoiler, as you can see below from the online configurator:
While the Plaid+ isn’t coming until “late 2021”, we can presume the images on Reddit are definitely a Model S refresh, but it’s unclear if it’s a Plaid model or not.
Nonetheless, it’s exciting to see the new Model S refresh on the streets of California. Currently, the Model S Plaid has a delivery time of 3-8 weeks for orders placed today.
