SpaceX Building Futuristic Bar Looking Down at Texas Rocket Factory

In a recent tweet, SpaceX founder and CEO Elon Musk revealed that the aerospace giant is currently building a bar overlooking its rocket factory in Boca Chica Village in Texas.

The revelation came in response to a fan who posted an image of the MK1’s flaps being used as the roof for a “tiki bar” at SpaceX. Musk said the pictured space is actually a restaurant on the premises, and revealed actual plans for a bar.

“That’s actually our restaurant, but SpaceX is building a futuristic bar at the top of the high bay with 360 degree windows & a glass floor looking down on the rocket factory,” said Musk.

These high bays are being built to allow for the assembly of massive Starship tank sections.

SpaceX’s spaceport in Boca Chica Village near Brownsville, Texas, located some 40 miles (65 km) from South Padre Island, houses a rocket production facility, test site, launch site, multiple cargo holds, and much more.

According to SpaceX’s eccentric CEO, the company is currently planning on a futuristic theme for the bar, with windows covering all 360° of the space and a transparent glass floor to give patrons an unmatched and exquisite bird’s-eye view of the rocket production facility underneath.

We already know that Musk’s companies and alcohol mix quite well, and we’ll soon find out if this bar will be open to the public or just SpaceX employees.
