Tesla Waypoints in Navigation Found within Code Says Hacker
Tesla hacker @greentheonly on Sunday afternoon unearthed what appears to be waypoints within navigation, a highly requested feature from Tesla owners.
“I think I found something. Or more than one something. It also seems to be somewhat raw still, but more substance than random references in the code,” said @greentheonly, who frequently shares accurate information related to Tesla’s plans, thanks to digging through code.

Waypoints within Tesla navigation would allow owners to set multiple destinations on one journey. The feature is widely available in Google Maps, for example, but it’s not available within Tesla’s in-car navigation software.
Back in September, when asked about waypoints, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said, “fine, we’ll do it already,” and now it appears he may be following up on his previous commitment on the matter.
Fine, we’ll do it already 😀

If we look at waypoints for those testing out Full Self-Driving beta, those Teslas should be able to punch in multiple destinations and then just navigate to each location automatically. It would also pave the way for robotaxis in the future to have multiple drop off or pick up points during navigation.
Musk previously teased an upcoming holiday software update would impress owners, so it’s unclear if this feature will make its way into this winter update.
