Tesla FSD Beta 5 ‘Rainbow Road’ Easter Egg Test [VIDEO]
Tesla launched an Easter egg back in April 2016, aptly dubbed ‘rainbow road’, paying tribute to the famed course in Nintendo’s Mario Kart.
To enable the rainbow road Easter egg, all you need to do is activate Autopilot four times in a row. As CEO Elon Musk put it at the time, “Activate autopilot 4X in quick succession for psychedelic cowbell road. And, yes, we are adding more cowbell soon.”

For those asking if this cool Easter egg still remains in Full Self-Driving beta 5, build 2020.44.15.3, the answer is a half-yes, as confirmed by Tesla owner Chuck Cook. There is a slight catch, however, as you’ll see in the video below:
“So the cowbell still plays but the rainbow road don’t show up,” explains Cook, adding he tried this out to see how the new Autopilot code overlapped with its predecessor.
While the Easter egg remains in FSD beta 5 (2020.44.15.3), the actual rainbow road visual doesn’t appear. A software update will definitely fix this but it’s unclear when and if that will happen. Time to ask Elon, right?
