First Look: Full Self-Driving Beta 5 Impressions [VIDEOS]
On early Wednesday morning, Tesla released Full Self-Driving beta 5 (FSD beta 5), software update 2020.44.15.3. Tesla CEO Elon Musk said “improvement should be significant” in this update. Let’s see some of these changes in some first hands-on videos with this latest FSD beta 5.
Tesla Model Y owner Chuck Cook (@chazman) from Jacksonville, Florida, has shared a couple first look videos with FSD beta 5, heading out first thing to record his experiences, when it comes to challenging unprotected left turns.
FSD beta 5 has to time these unprotected left turns and also creep out at the right pace, especially heading into a three-lane highway. These left turns can be unnerving for human drivers but FSD beta 5 handles it well, according to Cook:
Here’s his first video filmed in the dark in the early morning (the audio is a bit messed but Cook acknowledged this):
Overall, based on Cook’s observations of FSD beta 5, he’s seeing some good improvements.
Others, such as Tesmanian co-founder Vincent, says noticeable improvements include slowing down heading into stop signs “is now more like human driver”, along with “smoother left and right turns”.
Just test drove the new FSD beta : 2020.44.15.3
Noticeable improvements:
1/ When approaching toward stop sign, the way to slow down the speed is now more like human driver.
2/ Smoother left and right turns

We’ll have to wait and see as more Full Self-Driving beta 5 videos hit the web. But these changes are always great to see.
