ChargePoint, a major electric vehicle (EV) charging network, is now functional with Apple CarPlay, giving EV owners the ability to check for ChargePoint charging stations in advance via CarPlay, and sync up their CarPlay app for remote access to charge information, among other things.
The new pairing of features simply allows for a more streamlined EV experience, without owners having to use their phones while driving or inside the car to navigate to the next charge station.

Bill Loewenthal, ChargePoint’s Senior Vice President, said in a statement, “The shift to electric mobility is transforming the driver experience, and ChargePoint’s integration with CarPlay is another pivotal step in the evolution already underway, driven by software and increased connectivity.”
Loewenthal continued, “By integrating essential charging data directly into the vehicle’s infotainment system, drivers are even more empowered and informed than ever. With the ability to connect their phone directly with the vehicle through CarPlay, drivers now have access to ChargePoint app information right on the vehicle display. The seamless connection between the app and vehicle represents the next step in how drivers and passengers will experience mobility in the future, accelerated by the global shift to electric drive.”
As drivers push past traditional combustion engines into a world of EVs, we’re likely to see more collaborations like this making it easier and more appealing for consumers to purchase EVs.
