It seems like new surprises about the Tesla Model 3 are around every corner. Even those we know about can still surprise us, from time to time.

In a new video posted to the Tesla Motors community on Reddit, a Tesla Model 3 owner confirms that their iPhone 12 Pro Max does, in fact, fit into the wireless charging area of the Tesla, just below the infotainment system and above the electric vehicle’s (EV’s) shifter.

The post, originally shared by user u/kawikados on the thread, consists of a short video of the owner placing their iPhone into the wireless charging area, only to see the screen say it was 85% charged, confirming the charging status on the phone.

While the iPhone 12 Pro Max does fit in the area, one can see from the video that it’s rather snug and has to be moved around a bit to correctly charge. In the comments, however, the original poster also shares that their iPhone X actually fits perfectly onto the charging coils, unlike the bigger iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Another major factor discussed in the thread is the phone’s case – in the video, the phone has no case whatsoever. With a slim case, as shared by the original poster, the phone hardly fits, and with any bulkier cases on, the phone won’t fit at all into the charging station.

Regardless, it’s nice to see that Tesla’s wireless charging area can fit an array of different phones from large to small – though you can expect to be disappointed if you own an iPhone 12 Pro Max and like to use a big, bulky case.
