Bentley to Go All Plug-In by 2026, All Electric by 2030
Recently, many luxury car brands seem to be taking their stands on future plans for electric vehicles (EVs), and thus their own personal plans of action for climate change, and one particular company’s plans for the future are… refreshing and ambitious, to say the least.
On Wednesday, Bentley announced plans to become “end-to-end” carbon neutral by 2030, ultimately by shifting to a completely plug-in-electric lineup by 2026, to follow up with an all-electric lineup by 2030, according to Green Car Reports.
The plans, which were shared during an online press conference, also include for a complete revamp of the company’s supply chain with the goal of lowering its environmental impact entirely.

As of last year, Bentley became certified as carbon neutral by the Carbon Trust, though the company still has plans to lower emissions 75% by 2025, from when it had set forth those plans in 2010.
While the company does not currently have any EVs on the market, its Bentayga Hybrid design is a small step in the right direction. Still, it does feel a little odd that their only low-emissions vehicle isn’t even a plug-in yet. Regardless, hopefully their ambitions will serve them well, and will set the right precedent for other luxury brands too.
