Electrify Canada to Launch Two-Level Pricing Structure, Reduced Rates in October

Electrify Canada has announced new rates and savings coming to its charging stations beginning in October.

According to an Electrify Canada spokesperson in an email to Tesla North, a new two-level system pricing structure (previously it was three) and reduced rates will kick in on October 5, 2020.

The new two-level pricing structure is available for 1-90 kW and 1-350 kW charging levels.

These come with reduced rates starting at $0.21/minute at 1-90 kW charging rates and for 1-350 kW charging rates, there will be a price drop “of over 50 percent from the previous plan”, with rates starting as low as $0.44 per minute.

“Electrify Canada is committed to providing a premier charging experience that makes it quick and easy for drivers to charge with us. We have developed a new pricing structure that is consistent, transparent and provides even greater value,” said Robert Barrosa, chief operating officer at Electrify Canada, in a statement to Tesla North. “With the new pricing structure, new and existing customers can experience for themselves just how easy it can be to own and operate an electric vehicle.”

The company says there will be no session charging fees as well. Recently, Electrify Canad also announced new canopies were being installed at its charging stations to protect customers from adverse weather.

Electrify Canada, backed by Volkswagen, is currently installing 32 charging station sites with 128 chargers in Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta and Quebec.
